Lathe Department

The first stop for most raw material used in part production is the Lathe Department. It uses a wide variety of turning processes to take raw metal bars to make finished cylindrical parts. A few of these processes include turning, drilling, boring, threading and broaching.

In this photo, a solid bar of 440C stainless was manufactured into a seaming chuck which is used to seal the lid to a can (like Campbell’s soup).

Displayed on the end of our Swiss machining center is a wide variety of parts we’ve produced for our customers that showcase the immense capability of our lathe machining tools.
