EDM Department
EDM stands for Electrical Discharge Machining and involves short, controlled bursts of electricity to remove metal. Because it is an electrical process, there are no cutting forces and we can easily machine very hard or difficult materials with ease.
Stark Industrial has 2 different types of EDM machines, known as Wire EDM and Small Hole EDM. Wire EDM uses an electrically charged wire to cut material. Small Hole EDM uses a copper electrode to “burn" away material to create very small (Ø.008" - .250") holes up to 12" deep in any conductive material. This electrical discharge machining process has many applications such as making metal filters and nozzles.
