Specifications on Standards
Stark Centers are made from bearing quality 52100 steel, heat treated to 60-64 Rc, and guaranteed to have .0002 or less total-indicator-runout. We also manufacture standard carbide tipped centers with 52100 steel shanks, hardened to 45-50 Rc, and half centers that feature a cut-away section for additional clearance for cutting tools, grinding wheels, and fixtures.
Stark also manufactures centers with draw-off threads and/or opposing flats for CNC machines. While we normally provide a 60 included point angle, other angles can be specified.
Special Solid / Dead Centers
Stark Industrial specializes in the manufacture of special solid / dead centers. We even have many specials currently in stock. Our design team will work with your drawing, reverse engineer your old center, or use your specifications to design a dead center that will fulfill your requirements.
OEM Centers
A 50-70% savings compared to OEM pricing is typical on Stark's OEM centers. We stock a HUGE inventory of Cincinnati lathe, Cincinnati tool and cutter grinder centers, and Schutte tool and cutter grinder centers...all made in our North Canton, Ohio facility.
Stark Centers: Manufactured by People who use Solid Centers
Several years ago, we had difficulty finding high quality solid centers at reasonable prices to use on our lathes and grinders, so we decided to manufacture our own. We had several customers who shared the same concerns. A "few" centers soon grew into an entire line of standard solid centers. Through word of mouth, some strategically placed ads, and a network of distributors, Stark Industrial soon became one of the largest manufacturers of solid centers in the United States.
